Welcome to new LUCI member cities Istanbul, Madiun Regency and Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole!

LUCI is delighted to welcome three new city members to the network these past few weeks:

Istanbul, Turkey

The City of Istanbul (population 15.4 million) just joined the LUCI network this fall. Istanbul is Turkey’s most populous city and its cultural and financial center. Located on both sides of the Bosphorus, the narrow strait between the Black Sea and the Marmara Sea, Istanbul bridges Asia and Europe. 

Madiun Regency, Indonesia

Brand new LUCI member, Madiun Regency is the first Indonesian member to join the network! With not less than 750.000 inhabitants, Madiun Regency covers an area of covers an area of +1.000 km2. During its first days of membership, Madiun Regency signed the LUCI Charter on Urban Lighting!

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, France

Situated in the South of France, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole regroups 31 member municipalities. The Metropolis counts over 470.000 inhabitants and is one of the largest urban centers in the region of Occitania.
