Open Call for Amsterdam Light Festival 2024-2025
During the Open Call, Amsterdam Light Festival invites creatives to submit a concept for a light artwork. Both professional artists and upcoming talent can submit their ideas. After a careful selection procedure, the artworks will be co-created with the festival, meaning guided and supported financially by the festival. Selection is done based on several criteria, including the use of light, fit to the theme and adherence to the briefing.

THEME EDITION 13
Edition 13 takes place from 28 November 2024 until 19 January 2025. The year 2025 is a very special one: the city of Amsterdam celebrates its 750th anniversary! During this jubilee year, residents, visitors, city districs and institutions commemorate the spirit of Amsterdam. And what custom is more appropriate to mark the city’s special milestone than a ritual?
Rituals have traditionally helped us through all kinds of transformations; from past to future, from winter to summer, from youth to adulthood. Rituals connect us to our community. Amsterdam Light Festival invites artists to represent and reflect on rituals that are meaningful to the diverse community of Amsterdam.
