Co-organised by LUCI and the City of Lyon in the frame of the Fête des Lumières 2025,, the event explored how humour, lightness and joy in public space can support more inclusive, people-centred urban nights.

The City of Bruges hosted the LUCI Lab Bruges, a special-format event developed by LUCI in collaboration with Fluvius and VVSG. Participants explored how light shapes the nocturnal experience of cities and how thoughtful lighting reinforces a city’s nighttime identity. The Lab brought together 13 LUCI member cities from 7 countries and 19 Flemish municipalities.

LUCI is proud to announce that the LUCI Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting is now available in German! This new version will help spread the word among German cities and the German-speaking urban lighting community in general.

The second edition of the Moroccan Lighting Days for Africa (MLDFA) took place on 18–19 June 2025 in Marrakesh, bringing together lighting experts, city leaders, market parties, innovators, and investors from across Africa and beyond to explore the future of lighting on the continent.

The LUCI Cities & Lighting Summit 2025 in London marked a new step for international cooperation in urban lighting, with the announcement of three new Partnerships with Efus (European Forum for Urban Security), the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP), and Women in Lighting (WIL).

The first LUCI Cities & Lighting Summit brought together in London close to 200 delegates from 23 countries, representing 40 cities and 65 other organisations, companies and institutions. This gathering proved to be a pivotal event for the global urban lighting community.
