LUCI collaborates with Smart City Expo World Congress Barcelona to advance global urban innovation
LUCI has entered into a collaboration agreement with Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the world’s leading international event on cities and smart urban solutions, organised by Fira de Barcelona.
Through this collaboration, LUCI reinforces its commitment to strengthen the role of urban lighting as a key aspect of sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready cities. LUCI members can benefit from a facilitated access to the event, and opportunities to take part in the conversation on smart city solutions worldwide.

Expo and Congress theme for 2025: “The Time for Cities”
The 2025 edition of Smart City Expo World Congress will be held in Barcelona from November 4–6, 2025, under the theme “The Time for Cities”.
The event will focus on strategies to transform current metropolises into more sustainable, efficient, and liveable spaces and among other topics, will open a dialogue on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an asset capable of accelerating the process.
Alongside this innovation-driven focus, SCEWC will bring together country pavilions from across the globe — including Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, and many more — highlighting the international scope of the event and the diversity of urban strategies being deployed worldwide.
Congress sessions will provide attendees with valuable insights on how cities are adopting transformative strategies to address urgent challenges such as climate change, urban inclusion, and the digital transition.
