Download the Urban Lighting for Health & Wellbeing: New Guidelines
First revealed at the LUCI Cities & Lighting Summit in London, at the end of April, our most recent publication – the Urban Lighting for Health and Wellbeing: New Guidelines – is now available for download!
In cities worldwide, urban lighting is a powerful determinant of public health. With more than half of the global population residing in urban areas (over 70% in Europe) the urban environment significantly influences the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals.
This publication aims to empower lighting professionals, city representatives, and researchers to advocate for and implement evidence-based lighting strategies that create healthier urban environments.
Navigate the complexities of urban lighting and build cities that prioritise human health and wellbeing.
These guidelines have been developed within the framework of the EU Horizon 2020 ENLIGHTENme project. They represent the result of the collaborative endeavour involving 22 partners from different EU and non-EU countries.

“The time for change is now. Cities must move beyond fragmented approaches and embrace lighting as a strategic asset for fostering healthier, more inclusive, and resilient urban environments.”
– Simona Tondelli, ENLIGHTENme project coordinator
