New light installation for Galway 2020
A special digital version of the City of Galway’s new light instalation “Savage Beauty” can be seen on the Galway 2020 website.
“Savage Beauty”, a light installation produced by Finnish artist Kari Kola, illuminated the Connemara mountains with 1,000 lights in March as part of the Galway 2020 programme.
Although the live event over the St Patrick’s Day weekend had to be cancelled because of new rules on public gatherings and the Corona Virus, the artist was able to document his work beforehand, and the digital version is therefore available for all to view from home.
