Tartu Valgus, or TAVA24, brings light art and lighting design to Tartu! The festival, held in November, features a main program of workshops, installations, and concerts, primarily taking place at the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, with other locations around the city. For 2024, the TAVA program also includes cinematic art, showcasing short films from the “Wild South” series, produced as part of Tartu’s European Capital of Culture 2024.
Tartu in Light (TAVA 2016) was the first architectural lighting design and light art festival in Tartu, Estonia. The inaugural festival featured site-specific outdoor installations that highlighted Tartu’s forgotten spaces, history, and citizens, showcasing the spatial relationships between places and non-places.
Dates of the previous/upcoming edition: 7 – 9 November 2024
