The Guangzhou International Light Festival is one of the world’s major lighting events. In 2025, the festival coincides with the 15th National Games of China.

Since its creation in 2011, the festival has attracted over 67 million visitors and gained recognition from UNESCO in 2015, by being selected as a large-scale cultural event of the UNESCO “International Light Year”. The Guangzhou International Light Festival has also boosted the regional lighting industry and serves as a business card representing the image of Guangzhou city.
