Genius Loci Weimar blends the past and the present by embracing the spirit of the location. The festival reinterprets the architecture, history, and other layers of meaning in buildings and urban settings. Artists then visualize these ideas using videomapping techniques. To make this a reality, Weimar hosts a competition for facade projection, inviting artists from around the world to submit their work. Residents of Weimar, city visitors, and an expert jury choose the best applications. Throughout the years, several side events have taken place. The next facade projection is scheduled for 31 March, as part of the “Living 2023” event within Klassik Stiftung Weimar from 30 March to 2 April 2023.
