LUCI Coffee Break – February 2024

In order to engage with members, offer new learning experiences and maintain online the much loved “LUCI Family” atmosphere of our in person events, the LUCI Coffee Bre@ks were created. These short 30-minute regular online rendezvous sessions are an opportunity for members to stay in touch and hear from experts on a variety of urban lighting topics. Members then have access to replays on the LUCI Hub, our dedicated knowledge exchange platform.

The next LUCI Coffee Bre@k takes place on:

Topic: Sustainability and Resilience – Solutions through Standardized Interfaces

The Zhaga Consortium plays a crucial and global role in promoting sustainable and resilient solutions in the field of lighting technology, both for outdoor and indoor lighting. Zhaga, the global consortium of the lighting industry for standardizing interfaces for LED lighting components, refers to this context as ‘Circularity Lighting.’

The presentation demonstrates how Zhaga specifications enhance the interoperability of lighting components. This approach not only enables a more efficient use of resources but also contributes to extending the lifespan of lighting products, supports maintenance, upgrades and refurbishment thereby reducing landfill waste.

Further, by developing robust interoperable solutions and NFC technology for asset management, the Zhaga Consortium strengthens resilience against global supply chain disruptions, ensuring that lighting systems can be produced and delivered even under adverse conditions.
