Lighting the way together: key partnerships signed at London Summit
Centred around the themes of Sustainability, Inclusion, and Health & Wellbeing, the LUCI Cities & Lighting Summit 2025 in London marked a new step for international cooperation in urban lighting, with the announcement of three new Partnerships.
LUCI continues to explore deeper our community’s ecosystem, build bridges through these partnerships, and foster collective action in the pursuit of the better cities of tomorrow, always based in the goals and principles of the LUCI Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting.
Three new partners
At the London Summit, LUCI signed cooperation agreements with Efus (European Forum for Urban Security), the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP), and Women in Lighting (WIL) — each bringing unique strengths aligned with this year’s core Summit themes.
Efus is a network dedicated to fostering discussion, cooperation and support among local and regional authorities in the field of crime prevention and urban security. Founded in 1987, it brings together nearly 250 cities and regions from 17 countries in Europe.
ILP is a United Kingdom and Ireland professional engineering institution, uniting the skills of engineering, design and technology in order to deliver quality lighting for the built environment and achieve public benefit.
Women in Lighting (WIL) is an inspirational and global digital platform that profiles women working in the field of lighting and lighting design. It aims to promote their passion and achievements, narrate their career path and goals. It aims to celebrate their work and increase the profile of women working in lighting to help encourage, support and inspire the next generation.
A collective step forward
These new partnerships reflect LUCI’s continued commitment to reinforce cooperation worldwide on the topic of urban lighting, with a multiple helix model to create strong links between cities, citizens, universities, industries, NGOs and international organisations.
As the lighting community moves beyond London 2025, we hope these partnerships will spark new projects, strengthen advocacy, and deepen impact — illuminating pathways to more liveable urban futures.
