Light art during social distancing
As the world grapples with the Covid19 situation, you can always count on artists to lift up our spirits, and light art is no exception.
See what LUCI members have been up to to light up the world in small but important ways:
> Berlin Leuchtet presents Lights of Hope
Watch daily videos of light art works from around the world at 20:30 CET
> Creatmosphere presents Coin de Paradis
Laurent Louyer, of Creatmosphere, decided to start projecting images of nature, and then of artists, on the facade across from his appartment window.
The project has become a combination of showing gratitude to the health workers and an open air museum for a few local residents to enjoy during the French confinement period.
Check out daily projections of artworks curated by Laurent Louyer, visible at 21:00 CET
> The City of Galway and Galway2020 present “Savage Beauty”
“Savage Beauty”, a light installation produced by Finnish artist Kari Kola, illuminated the Connemara mountains with 1,000 lights in March as part of the Galway 2020 programme.
> Luminale goes digital
While the Luminale Biennial could not take place this year as planned due to the Covid19 situation, virtual versions of countless light art works and installations can be viewed on Luminale’s website and digital channels, under the hashtag #luminaledigital.
