i light Marina Bay, Asia’s only sustainable light festival

First dd held in 2010, this biennial event has been staged three times at Marina Bay, the heart of Singapore’s city centre. This session will focus on the key guiding principles and the strategies adopted to deliver Asia’s only sustainable light art festival. Some of these include incorporating sustainable elements in the design and production of artworks, activities, programmes and campaigns. The Switch Off, Turn Up Campaign is one of the examples of the initiatives undertaken.
Jason Chen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore, and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Australia. After various positions in the private sector and the Singapore Armed Forces, in 2008 he joined Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority. As the Director of Place Management, he leads a team that oversees the coordination of the planning, infrastructure implementation, place branding as well as the programming of events such as i Light Marina Bay.
