GLOW Eindhoven: 20 years of light art, community and connection
This November, GLOW Eindhoven, a long-standing member of LUCI, marked a remarkable milestone: 20 years of transforming the Dutch city through light art.
Under the anniversary theme “The Light”, this 20th edition combined iconic works from the past with new creations — a tribute to everything GLOW has become: not just a festival, but a powerful connector of people, place and creativity.

This anniversary also comes as Ronald Ramakers steps down after a decade as director.
He has been instrumental in building GLOW into the globally respected event it is today — and, as a committed member of the Light Festival Working Group, he has helped shape our network’s shared vision for artistic, socially engaged urban lighting. We extend our heartfelt thanks for his leadership, dedication, and his collaborative spirit.
Lighting designer Philip Ross will officially take over as director on 1 January 2026. Yet he has already worked side-by-side with Ronald during this 20th edition, ensuring continuity while bringing fresh energy. Ross is no stranger to GLOW — having contributed his first light artwork to the festival in 2014 and remained closely involved ever since.
As a LUCI member, GLOW Eindhoven remains a beacon in our Light Festival Working Group.
We congratulate GLOW on its 20th edition, thank Ronald for his lasting impact, and warmly welcome Philip.
We look forward to many more years of collaboration!
