“Lighting for Genoa”, winner of the 2024 LUCI Cities & Lighting Awards, is a transformative project that revitalized ten neglected spaces in Genoa’s historic centre through light. By enhancing safety, accessibility, and inclusivity, the initiative has made these areas welcoming again, especially for vulnerable groups. Developed in collaboration with local associations and residents, the project includes 10 permanent lighting designs covering thousands of square meters. This presentation explores how light can be a powerful tool for urban regeneration.
