This is the opportunity for LUCI members to learn about the network’s ongoing and future activities and adopt the LUCI “Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting”. Upcoming events, projects and new perspectives will be presented.

11:20 – 12:30: Opening speeches & Keynote
- “Short-term projects can make a long-term impact” – Kari Kola, Light Artist
By discussing examples of 3 short-time projects from different styles and backgrounds, Kari Kola will showcase how his temporary light art projects are making a permanent impact on their specific locations.

14:00 – 15:30: Plenary session: “Urban Lighting in Jyväskylä”
Hear from local representatives about the urban lighting in their City of Light as they discuss strategic tools, permanent lighting, latest projects, control systems and maintenance.
- “Urban lighting as a strategic tool in Jyväskylä” – Kari Ström, Service Manager, City of Jyväskylä
- “Permanent lighting projects and events as part of lighting strategies” – Elisa Hillgen, Lighting Coordinator, City of Jyväskylä
- “New lighting tools to assist maintenance and investment planning” – Mikko Maunula, Civil engineer, urban lighting & maintenance, City of Jyväskylä

- Option 1: Sites close to Paviljonki
4 groups will work on 4 different sites and build temporary lighting with help of professional lighting designers and technicians.

- Option 2: Light Art Exhibition visit, WinterLight exhibition area
The City of Light festival is expanding and with it a new indoor light art exhibition exploring Finnish and international light art is launched from 18.2. to 5.3.2023. At the LUCI AGM venue, a guided tour of this mesmerizing exhibition area will take place on Thursday afternoon for registered participants.

- Konak-Kemeralti Lighting Masterplan – Şebnem Gemalmaz, Arup
Hear from the lighting designer behind the winning project of the 2022 LUCI Cities & Lighting Awards about the two-phased lighting masterplan that aimed to integrate social, ecological, and economical aspects of planning into the process of creating a sustainable future for the city.
11:00 – 12:30: LUCI Talks: Making a Difference in Urban Lighting
This session includes short curated inspirational talks featuring perspectives from the lighting community.
- “Design Seoul 2.0” – Choi Inkyu
- “RIGHT – LIGHT – NIGHT: Ethics in Urban Lighting” – Chiara Carucci
- “Collective Creation: using light as a tool to engage communities” – Martin Lupton and Sharon Stammers

14:00 – 15:00: City perspectives on the LUCI “Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting”
Following an introduction to the LUCI “Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting” which was adopted during the General Assembly, city representatives of Eindhoven, Budapest, Oulu and more will illustrate how the Declaration is relevant and useful for their own urban futures.
15:00 – 16:30: LUCI Declaration: Participative World Café
All participants will have a chance to take part in an interactive “World Café,” to share how you and your respective cities plan to activate the goals from the Declaration on a 3/5/10 year action plan.

Optional programme
After the main programme of the AGM in Jyväskylä, participants are invited to enjoy Optional programmes to experience Finnish culture on Saturday 4th March!
Registration for the optional programme is first-come, first-served (max 50 people each).
Morning:
- Option 1: Outdoor activities, sauna and local beer tasting (max. 50 people)
After the outdoor activity of ice fishing at Savutuvan Apaja, we will enjoy traditional saunas, outdoor jacuzzis and swimming in an icy lake. Beer tasting at a local brewery and lunch with a local menu.
10:00 – 10:30: Departure from Pavijonki
10:30 – 11:00: Arrival at Savutuva Apaja, presentation tour of area and buildings
11:00 – 13:00: Lunch & beer-tasting
13:00 – 14:00: Ice-skating and fishing (weather and ice conditions permitting)
14:00 – 15:00: Sauna
15:00 – 16:00: Departure back to the centre
Note: bring your swimming gear!
- Option 2: Visit of the Museum of Central Finland and Alvar Aalto tour (max 50 people)
Special museum visit to immerse into Finnish culture, to be followed by a visit on Alvar Aalto sites and information on his history and meaning for Jyväskylä. Lunch and bus tour.
10:45 – 11:00: Bus from Pavijonki
11:00 – 12:30: Visit at the Keski-Suomen museo
12:30 – 13:30: Lunch
13:30 – 14:00: Bus ride to Säynätsalo
14:00 – 15:00: Säynätsalo town hall, tour and information about Alvar Aalto
15:00 – 15:30: Bus back to the centre
Evening:
- Finnish darkness and silence in a forest
A special evening to close the event where participants will take hand-held lanterns and head out to the forest to see the dark sky, enjoy the open fire and have late night coffee and snacks out in nature.
19:00 – 19:30: Bus departure
19:30 – 22:00: Time in nature with snacks and coffee
22:00 – 22:30: Bus back to the centre
