LUCI Annual General Meeting
Jyväskylä
1-3 March 2023
LUCI Annual General Meeting Jyväskylä
The LUCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) brings together the members of LUCI for its General Assembly as well as conferences, working group meetings, open conference sessions and the discovery of the host city and its lighting projects and policies.
For the 2023 edition of the LUCI AGM in Jyväskylä, LUCI and the City of Jyväskylä plan to offer hands-on experiences with light, show the importance of community engagements in lighting projects and share knowledge on the effects of urban lighting for the environment as a whole.
Attendees are warmly invited to join us in-person for this special event that will also adopt the LUCI “Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting” that complements the original LUCI Charter.
Welcome words from Jyväskylä
Welcome to Jyväskylä – City of Light
We are delighted to invite the LUCI Network to visit our beautiful city, surrounded by amazing Finnish nature, lakes and Alvar Aalto architecture. Jyväskylä is the 7th biggest city in Finland and known for its dedication and history in architecture, education, sports and, of course, urban lighting.
In Jyväskylä, we have been working towards better understanding and implementation of lighting solutions for almost 25 years now. In March 2023, we wish to invite you all to see the results for yourself when the LUCI AGM takes place in Jyväskylä from 1-4 March 2023. At that time of the year, visitors can enjoy the real winter experience in Finland with snow, ice and lighting, without forgetting the beauty of nordic darkness.
The event will focus on important themes, such as lighting & the environment as well as lighting projects & community engagement. We will hear from many amazing speakers and also have the chance to participate in some hands-on lighting action ourselves! Following LUCI’s 20th anniversary year, this AGM will also mark a major step for the network with the adoption of the LUCI Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting.
Warm welcome, see you in Jyväskylä.
Timo Koivistoi, Mayor of Jyväskylä
