Lyon Creative Lighting Forum
4-5 December 2025
Lyon Creative Lighting Forum
The Lyon Creative Lighting Forum is a unique moment of exchange bringing together international city delegations and representatives, urban lighting professionals, light artists and designers, light festival organisers and lighting manufacturers from all over the world.
Organised by LUCI and the City of Lyon as part of the Fête des Lumières 2025, this year’s Forum explores the theme of “PLAY” – embracing humour, lightness, and joy in the public space through light.
Playfulness, creativity, and light
From permanent lighting schemes to temporary festival installations, the Forum will highlight creative approaches that go beyond artistic expression — encouraging new ways of thinking about lighting that spark imagination, foster interaction, and contribute to inclusive, environmentally responsible, and people-centred urban spaces.
Previously known as the Lyon Light Festival Forum, this renewed format and identity reflect a shared ambition between LUCI and the City of Lyon to open new creative perspectives on urban lighting. With a clearer focus and fresh energy, the Forum strengthens its role as a platform for dialogue, experimentation, and international cooperation — where light becomes not only a tool, but a language for creative, inclusive, and sustainable cities.
This edition will also mark the next in-person gathering of the LUCI Light Festival Working Group, and as always, the event offers participants a unique opportunity to explore creative lighting in all its forms while experiencing the world-renowned Fête des Lumières.
