Urban lighting in Montpellier
Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole manages more than 80 000 light points which will benefit from a major renovation programme that should result in 90% of the assets being fitted with LED lights by the end of 2026. Aware of the challenges of energy sobriety and light pollution, the local authority is carrying out numerous experiments and has released an ambitious Lighting Plan (2023) that commits the local authority in the long term to a differentiated management of public lighting, respectful of its social and environmental needs.
