Medellín

Colombia

quote

The district of Medellín and its participation in LUCI has been key to sharing its experiences in lighting projects (urban, architectural and Christmas), as well as knowing what the technical and social development is like from the lighting of the other member cities. It is noted that through the commitments acquired in the LUCI Charter, the Lighting Master Plan and the Design Manual for the city of Medellín were advanced.

EPM – Distrito de Medellín

Urban lighting in Medellín

The district is characterized by having an organized lighting system, with standardized infrastructure, 100% modernized to low energy consumption LED technology, which is operated by EPM (district public services company).

There is a Master Plan that defined four dimensions with which all public lighting interventions are developed: Social, Technical, Environmental and Spatial Dimensions.

In addition to the above, in Colombia there is the Technical Regulation of Lighting and Public Lighting – RETILAP to guarantee the technical quality of lighting projects, EPM complies with all regulatory, normative and regulatory requirements and provisions.
