Ghent is a historical but vibrant city with a beautiful night scenery because of the Lightplan.

“The city of Ghent became LUCI member in 2005 to learn from other cities and their lighting plan. Ghent became (inter)nationally known because of the Lightplan, since then we want to share our lightplan-experience with other cities. But there are many fields on which we can still learn from others, for example smart LED-lighting.

City of Ghent has a Light plan with a sober but strategic lighting strategy. Functional, atmospheric illumination, and monumental illumination work together to create a well balanced scenery of our historical city at night.
