Fez
Morocco
Founded in 789 and located in northeastern Morocco, Fez is recognised as the cultural and spiritual capital of the country. It is world-renowned for its medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and for being home to the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest existing and continually operating university in the world.
The city also shines thanks to its exceptional craftsmanship, where unique know-how, such as leather work in its ancient tanneries, has been passed down from generation to generation.
