Urban lighting in Durham City

Durham City has a lighting strategy in place, and in particular areas the city works close with one conservation team so that it can conform to the relevant requirements.

The city has a range of units within the city centre which includes LED, SON, bench lighting, bollards, sign lights etc.

Durham has the predominant UNESCO world heritage site where as an authority it manages the lighting in and around the area and the lighting that is used to illuminate the building.

An in-house team looks after capital and maintenance activities on each of the assets that are under the city control.
