Bhotekoshi is a rural municipality in the northern hilly region of Sindhupalchok District, Bagmati Province, Nepal, situated at an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters above sea level and bordering China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.
Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality was established on 10 March 2017 as part of Nepal’s federal restructuring under the Constitution of Nepal 2015, which aimed to decentralise governance by creating 753 local administrative units across the country. It serves as a key gateway for trade and tourism between Nepal and China via the Araniko Highway and the Tatopani customs point.
