Cluster Lumiere
Created on the 23rd of May 2008, Cluster Lumiere was the result of the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lyon. Its founding group, formed by Philips, the Comptoir Lyonnais d’Electricité (Group SONEPAR), the Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l’Etat (ENTPE) and CDO (organizer of the LumiVille exhibition) aimed to unite and develop expertise in lighting in the Rhone-Alpes.
With over 120 members, Cluster Lumiere’s mission is to mobilize the sector to meet the challenges of energy management, to boost innovation efforts around new technologies, including the LED technology that is revolutionizing the lighting market, and to support the economic development of businesses.
The Cluster Lumiere offers its members: technological and economic, national and international promotion of the sector (with projects such as lighting of the Urban Best Practices Area in the Shanghai World Expo) as well as a forum for discussion and training with evenings and thematic days.
Within the Cluster, collaborative projects bring innovation and industrial laboratories, installers, and lighting designers together around four main themes: street lighting, industrial lighting, retail lighting, and LEDs.
“The unique aspect of the Cluster is the sum of all these varied and complementary skills, this expertise with a “Lyonnais” touch in lighting,” declares Joel KARECKI, President of Cluster Lumiere.
