I am Wonsoon Park, Mayor of Seoul. It is my great pleasure to be able to invite you to the 2016 LUCI Annual General Meeting in Seoul, the city of light.

Seoul, home to more than 10 million citizens, is a uniquely dynamic and attractive city that brings together 2000 years of traditional history and culture with high-tech information and communications technologies in a beautiful natural environment.

Nights in Seoul are particularly vibrant. Our city nightscape is bright and lively, and renowned around the world. This dynamic city night life is one of the results of our urban lighting strategy with its modern and colorful lighting, and our commitment to developing high-tech smart city solutions for our citizens.

The 2016 LUCI Annual General Meeting in Seoul will be a meaningful venue for sharing and further developing and shaping together urban lighting policies in cities around the world. It will be a pleasure for the Seoul Metropolitan Government to work closely with LUCI and its member cities to share best practices and the latest progress in technologies during this unique international forum.

Dear members of LUCI, I hope that you will join us at the 2016 LUCI Annual General Meeting in Seoul and participate in essential discussions that will find practical ways to further develop urban lighting in cities.
