Welcome

« Welcome to all participants of the Lyon Light Festival Forum. Lyon is proud to welcome you to this new edition of the Fête des Lumières.

Last year, the tragic Paris attacks led us to turn the event into a tribute to the victims. We wanted this year to reaffirm our commitment to this emblematic tradition of our metropolis.

Our objective is to reconnect with its festive and popular dimension while cultivating the artistic and technical components that make it a showcase for innovation in lighting.

The Fête des Lumières in Lyon has already inspired many cities in the world. After three very successful experiments in Mauritius, Dubai and Quito, it will soon export its know-how to Bogota, Montreal and Hong Kong.

For all city representatives of the LUCI network and all the lighting professionals present, I hope that this 2016 edition will be a source of inspiration, and an opportunity for fruitful exchanges and wonderful moments shared! »

« This December, the LUCI network gathers for the final highlight of 2016, in the context of the Fête des Lumières in Lyon.

In this magical atmosphere, the programme of the Lyon Light Festival Forum offers cities, as well as lighting professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, a unique and original space to meet, discuss and debate.

As we see more and more light festivals worldwide, we are very pleased during these few days, to actively take part in the major developments in the domain of event and temporary lighting.

With key conference sessions and networking opportunities, this rich programme will allow participants to review the main artistic and technical trends of light festivals today. We hope that it will be a source of inspiration and will open new perspectives for the urban lighting community around the world.

I wish you all a fruitful and enriching time in Lyon! »
