LUCI awarded at the PLD Recognition Awards ceremony in Berlin!

The very successful second Professional Lighting Design Convention was concluded with a Grand Gala evening at which the Professional Lighting Design Recognition Awards were presented.

LUCI won the award in the “Award at Large” category which honours extraordinary efforts by persons or institutions to promote the evolution of Architectural lighting design as a discipline and the establishment of Lighting design as a profession.

LUCI was recognized for its international efforts to improve urban lighting, especially in its recent interactions with PLDA, in order to bring together decision makers at municipal level with lighting designers.

The other institution shortlisted was the City of Glasgow –a very active LUCI member and current Vice President- for setting a good example to other cities by understanding the meaning of light especially in social critical areas for implementing a masterplan already 20 years ago.

The PLDC Recognition Awards format is not based on submitted entries. A call for nominations was issued by the PLDC team of organisers. All nominations and short lists were discussed by a jury consisting of experienced professionals from the international lighting design community and related fields.
