Montreal is preparing to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its High Lights Festival (Montreal en Lumière)

A major urban all-night celebration will light up the sky of Montreal on the 28th February 2009

To celebrate a decade of urban winter pleasures, organisers of Montreal High Lights Festival are inviting the whole city to join in this spectacular event, presented by Hydro-Québec.

The party starts at 9pm when residents and tourists will flock to the streets and head to the large outdoor festival site. Musicians and stilt-walkers will be waiting to guide the crowds to De la Commune Street (in front of Pointe-à-Callière) where they will discover the epicentre of a truly blinding multi media spectacle.

The wild affair will deliver an exciting blend of circus acts, pyrotechnics, digital arts, acrobatics and projections. The party will then be topped off with a roof lifting DJ set from crowd pleasing DJ James Di Salvio who will take over the decks under a fire work lit sky.

The event has been designed and directed by Olivier Dufour from Dufour Événements, spectacles et images and is sponsored by Hydro-Québec.

Canada Economic Development, the ministère du Tourisme and the ministère des Affaires municipales, des Régions et de l'Occupation du territoire have also helped to fund the event.
