Thank you San Luis Potosi ! The LUCI Annual General Meeting in San Luis Potosi (Mexico) brought together more than 75 people from 22 different cities and 10 organizations/private companies involved in lighting.
LUCI would like to thank warmly the Government and the City of San Luis Potosi, especially Patricia Veliz Aleman, Minister of Tourism, Nora Medina, Director of Tourism, as well as all the people who participated in making this General Assembly a moment of exchange and reflexion on lighting and a true discovery of the San Luis Potosi State.
The impressive involvement from the city and the government on lighting certainly justifies San Luis Potosi’s reputation of being the city of light of Mexico.
With the help of lighting designers Gustavo Aviles for the lighting plan, and Xavier de Richemont for the “Fiesta de Luz”, the city fully engaged itself in using light as a tool for urban development.
Within Mexico and probably even further in the continent, San Luis Potosi now sets a reference for other cities in the use of light. Its role within the LUCI network will definitely continue to be of great importance in the future.
LUCI would also like to thank all the speakers in our conferences - Leni Schwendinger, David Keith, Piero Castiglioni, Graham Phoenix, Emily Emerson and Jocelyn Peissel - for their enriching speeches, ideas and visions on the theme “Sustainable lighting for sustainable cities” which was chosen for this AGM. These speeches and all the discussions which revolved around this theme constitute a starting point from which the LUCI network will engage many initiatives and projects in the years to come.
